Bushhouse named as Goldwater scholarship recipient

David Bushhouse, the 2015 Salutatorian of New Kent High School, has been named a 2018 Goldwater Scholar recipient.

A biology major at Hampden-Sydney College, Bushhouse is one of eight Virginians to receive the award. Students from more than 2,000 colleges and universities take part in applying for the scholarship.

The Goldwater Scholarship is the nation’s premier undergraduate scholarship in natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering. Bushhouse was recognized for his ongoing research on tumor immunology.
