The marriage of Alissa Renee Kelly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven A. Kelly of Mechanicsville, to Bruce Lovern Howard Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce L. Howard Sr. of Charles City, took place on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Saint Benedict Catholic Church. The Rev. Jay Wagner officiated. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Alissa is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Uzolini, formerly of Richmond, and Mrs. Patricia Kelly and the late Mr. James R. Kelly, of Mechanicsville.
Bruce is the grandson of Mrs. Nancy McDaniel, of Hopewell and the late Mr. Wayne McDaniel, and the late Mr. Henry Lewis Harry, both formerly of Hopewell, and of Mrs. Jeannette Howard and the late Dr. Farrar Howard Sr., of New Kent.
Mrs. Rebecca Freeman was matron of honor, Miss Demi Hitchock was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Anna Read Barth, Miss Lauren Vickers, Miss Austin Lackey, Miss Loren Beasley, Miss Chloe Fulcher, and Miss Katherine Storm. Flower girls were Miss Sofia Marin-Vargis, cousin of the bride, and Miss Kate Howard, cousin of the groom.
Mr. Bruce Howard Sr. was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Mr. James Rivas, Mr. Andrew Stahling, Mr. Michael Zacharias, Mr. Frank Krimowski, Mr. Graham Neal, Mr. Sean Alexander, Mr. Eric Kelly, and Mr. Nicholas Kelly, both brothers of the bride. Ring bearers were Mr. Maverick Bowman, cousin of the groom, and Mr. Mason Howard, cousin of the groom.
The wedding reception dinner and dancing was held at Burlington Plantation, property of the grooms’ parents. Photography was done by Alex C. Tenser.
The couple honeymooned in Bora Bora and Tahiti and currently reside in New Kent.
