Tentative date for opening of Charles City Library announced

Director of Heritage Public Library Chandra McPherson has announced a tentative date for the opening of the Charles City Library and Richard M. Bowman Center for Local History.

In a press release, McPherson said the 8,200 square foot building has a tentative dedication ceremony date of Sunday, June 9. McPherson commented that the $3.5 million facility is continuing to move along well despite wet weather.

The building is being constructed by David A. Nice Builders and is being funded by public sources, businesses, private foundations, civic groups, native Virginia tribes, religious congregations, and generous individuals.
