Letter to the Editor: Disproves of using convention to select Republican nomination

I was upset when I found out they were choosing the Republican nominee for delegate in the 97th District by convention.

This method effectively disenfranchises the elderly and the disabled, many of whom are veterans that fought for our freedom. My displeasure turned to outrage when I found out that one of the candidates possibly had voting authority to force the convention over a primary. If that is not a conflict of interest, no such thing exists. The convention process strips the residents of the district of their voice.

Del. Chris Peace has been a strong conservative. His record on life, guns, and taxes cannot be disputed. He may have cast one or two votes that I do not agree with, but I do not agree with my husband 100 percent of the time and I am not looking for a new husband.

File to be a delegate at the convention to vote for Del. Chris Peace.
