‘Sound the Alarm’ program coming to Charles City, New Kent

The American Red Cross, in partnership with Charles City and New Kent County Fire Departments, will be installing free smoke alarms.

The event is part of the “Sound the Alarm” national program sponsored by the Red Cross. The organization’s goal is to install 100,000 smoke alarms nationwide.

Smoke alarms will be installed from Apr. 27-May 12. Local community partners include Charles City and New Kent County Social Services, Samaria Baptist Church, New Kent/Charles City Resource Council, Senior Connections, New Hope Food Pantry, and Cul’s Courthouse Grill.
