New Kent Kiwanis Club

The New Kent Chapter of the Kiwanis Club had its charter celebration Tuesday evening. The Kiwanis Club is a global organization that is structured to serve children and communities throughout the world through activities such as constructing playgrounds, groundskeeping, and providing food donations. The New Kent chapter began on Jan. 31 of this year. Above (at left), Charles City High School Principal Marcus Petty Jr., Director of Teaching, Learning, and Accountability Todd Perelli, and superintendent of schools David Gaston (far right), are on hand with Kiwani Club members Penny Wynn and club president Kelly Cable (second from right) as part of the celebration that will focus on Charles City and New Kent forming a partnership and working as one giant community.
