Sheriff’s scholarship

New Kent resident Mia Bashore (left) became the latest recipient of the Virginia Sheriff’s Institute Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship will assist Bashore as she works towards her degree in criminal justice. Presenting the scholarship is New Kent County Sheriff J. Joe McLaughlin Jr.
