Charles City Educational Foundation awards grants

Charles City’s Educational Foundation awarded five teacher innovation grants to further educational opportunities for Charles City Public Schools.

–Lisa Brown received the Primary Source of the Month grant to assist with research of social studies outside of the classroom environment.

–Vicki Williams received the Improving School Spirit Using Your Imagination grant that will provide opportunities for students to use creative approaches in the marketing process.

–Christine McBee received the Kids’ Project Archaeology of Charles City (KPACC) grant to establish an afterschool club that uses hands-on study techniques that focuses on archaeology through math, science, history, writing, and research.

–Jennifer Richardson received the Coding, “Robots Oh My!” grant that focuses on making computational thinking and coding a part of the educator’s vocabulary.

–Lisa Dixon and Kristina Williams received the Transition Coffee Shop grant that will assist with creating a high school shop that will be run by high school students with disabilities. The shop will teach these students job force skills in assisting with their transition once they graduate high school.
