Letter to the Editor: Thanks New Kent’s Sheriff’s Office for watch order surveillance

Recently, my husband and I were away from our home for an extended period of time. We believed that our home and property were safe because we had requested a “watch order” from New Kent’s Sheriff’s Department.

A watch order notifies the sheriff’s department that a homeowner is away from their home and puts an extra eye on the property. This is a wonderful service and provides a tremendous level and feeling of security to the property owner. This service is also available to business owners.

Thank you Sheriff McLaughlin, officers, and deputies for your conscientious service to the citizens of New Kent County. We are fortunate to have you looking out for us.
