Letter to the Editor: Thanks emergency personnel of New Kent County
I want to thank New Kent EMS and dispatcher Meghan Johnson for their actions on Nov. 6.
Chuck Marsh sustained a life-threatening injury from a tractor. He dialed New Kent Fire and EMS and the response was extraordinary. Units from Fire Station #2, Fire Station #5, a fire engine, and other emergency personnel were there within minutes. Life EVAC #3 were conducting training exercises half-a-mile from the scene and were able to transport Chuck from New Kent Airport to a local medical facility. After surgery and three weeks in the trauma unit, he had one week of rehab and continues to be treated with home health care.
Chuck’s family and friends express our appreciation for the professional and compassionate care he received. We, and other families in New Kent County, are truly blessed to have professional and well-trained volunteers who give their time to serving our community.
