Success by NKMS Junior BETA Club

New Kent Middle School’s Junior Beta Club competed in the state convention on Feb. 12-13 in Hampton. Forty students participated in the event with 10 of them earning bids to the national competition in Fort Worth, Texas, this upcoming June. Winners are Rachel Newman and Alyssa Swarringim (first place-trading pin, third place-apparel design), Chloe Phillips (first place, three dimensional design), Sydney Nixon (second place-speech), the group of Aisling Gutierrez, Allie Smith, Lily Brame, and Sydney Nixon (third place-marketing), Jillian Wilson (third place-7th grade history), Rylan Horne (third place-6th grade history), Camden Nogueras (first place-6th grade math), and Rachel Newman (2nd place-visual arts drawing).
