By Community Member | August 25, 2020 9:39 am

As your Sheriff serving this great New Kent County, I feel it necessary and important to say thank you to the citizens of our community. The citizens of this region continue to proudly show their support of this office in so many ways. We are blessed to have such an excellent relation with our community, and we are blessed to serve in such a community.

As we face the day-to-day responsibilities of serving and protecting our communities, we are confronted with additional factors outside of our normal activities. The COVID-19 pandemic and the turmoil across our nation certain have affected our communities over the past few months. The members of this office continue to serve this community with dedication, professionalism, and compassion.

You, the citizens of New Kent, have supported your Sheriff’s Office with so many acts of kindness and love. We have received donations of meals, goodie bags, snack items, cases of water, designer mugs, cloth face masks, hand sanitizers, posters, cards, personalized notes, and so many other items. Each of these gifts have been accompanied by comments of thanks, appreciation, love, and prayers. Your support has touched every member of this agency personally and is sincerely appreciated.

We have enjoyed being invited to attending community planned events such as prayer walks, unity walks, Back the Blue, and church services. This great community has provided its citizens a tremendous place to live, work, play, visit, and grow. The sheriff’s office takes pride in working with and for our community. Please take time to review our community programs on the county’s website (http://www.co.new-kent.va.us/) or on the New Kent Sheriff’s Office App. You might be surprised by some of the programs we have in place.

We stand with our community against evil, against the criminal element, against any threats to peace and safety, and against all forms of social injustices and inequalities. New Kent County is not perfect, but we as a community continue to work together and stand together to make our county the best it can be.

We are here for you, and we thank you New Kent for being here for us. We are thankful to every citizen in our community and we continue to do all we can to serve you in a professional and compassionate manner. We love New Kent County and the people of this community. We are #OneNewKent. We are #NewKentStrong.

Thank you New Kent County. We love you. God bless our community.
