Charles City High School’s Scholastic Bowl team wins regional championship

Charles City High School’s Scholastic Bowl team captured the Group 1A Region A championship during virtual competition Saturday afternoon.

The team orchestrated a record of 2-1 in the competition, forcing a three-way tie at the top. However, the Panthers accumulated 520 total points to break the deadlock to win the region, edging West Point (500) and Mathews (450). Team members representing Charles City are Delaney Narron, Dakotah Brinkley, Alexis Williams, Walter Dickerson, and Keenan Stewart.

Charles City will participate in the Group 1A/1B Super-Regional (also known as the state semifinals) on Wednesday, Feb. 24 against West Point, Galileo Magnet, and Rappahannock County High School for an opportunity to participate in the state championship.
