Tentative plans for an in-person graduation have been announced for Charles City County High School.

During Tuesday evening’s meeting of Charles City School Board, Director of Teaching, Learning, and Accountability Todd Perelli and Director of Operations Jerome Tyler revealed an in-person graduation for the Class of 2021.

The scheduled graduation is set for Saturday, June 12, in the morning at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. The venue will be able to hold families while adhering to the 30 percent threshold mandated under Governor Ralph Northam’s executive order to comply with COVID-19 safety protocol. The event will be for ticketed guests only, with each student receiving approximately six tickets. No information on parking has been released as of this time.

In the event that the center cannot accommodate the graduation, Charles City High School will utilize the football stadium as an alternative and hold an outdoor ceremony.
