Letter to the Editor: Climate changes will inevitably happen

I agree the Earth seems to be warming a bit. But where I differ is the cause of this global warming.

I see the world as a living, breathing organism, and like any organism it goes through changes. These changes have been noted by National Geographic’s and other such organizations. Core samples have been taken throughout the world from glacial ice samples, sea bead samples, samples from deserts, forests, and various world regions. These samples have shown that the Earth has gone through numerous changes long before any human footprint was ever laid upon the Earth.

All sorts of life forms have become extinct and new life forms have come into being. It is the way the world has been and will always be even before mankind’s existence and will continue afterwards. You may be able to control “We the People”, but I do not believe we can control the world climate that Father God has created.

The world has been shaken with earthquakes, volcanos, and violent storms before any hunter and gatherer arrived. Entire continents have shifted, ocean currents have change, and much of the Earth was covered with ice. Seal levels have varied, grasslands have become forest and forest into deserts. The changes we see today has happened before and will again and again.

What disturbs me the most is that politicians are mandating that we change our habits and our lives. They say we must give up our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness and our very freedoms. The world governments want us to believe that if we do not conform to their dictates, the sky will fall.

What we need to do is learn how to adapt to the inevitable climate changes. We need to stop trying to shovel back the tides that will engulf us, no matter what we do. We must face the fact that Mother Earth is just going through its normal menstrual cycle.
