Marry named VLA’s Librarian of the Year

Jan Marry, the programming coordinator of adult services at Heritage Public Library in both Charles City and New Kent, has been recognized as the Virginia Library Association’s (VLA) Librarian of the Year.

Marry was selected for her contributions at all levels. While working with a limited budget, she was able to run all-age online programs, “Take and Make” craft kits, and set-up a plant and see exchange. In addition to those tasks, the Donna G. Cote Librarian of the Year award winner was instrumental in procuring several grants that assisted with the purchase of new library materials and mobile digital science lab equipment.

“I am grateful for this award,” Marry said in a press release. “I couldn’t have achieved it without the dedication of the wonderful Heritage Public Library leadership and staff, and the support of our great community.”
