National Night Out in New Kent, Charles City

Above, a boy scout from Troop 562 in New Kent mans the steering wheel of a fire engine as part of New Kent’s National Night Out, while below, healthy activities such as kicking a soccer ball into a goal were highlights of Charles City’s National Night Out. The event, which is hosted by localities the first Tuesday in August each year, is sponsored by local sheriff’s offices to promote safety, health education, and provide activities to bring the community together in a safe manner.
