Benjamin Harrison Bridge closing overnight Nov. 7-12

The Benjamin Harrison Bridge that connects the counties of Charles City and Prince George will close overnight for several days in early November.

Beginning Sunday, Nov. 7 and concluding on Friday, Nov. 12, the bridge will close from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. to vehicular traffic for routine washing. The preventative maintenance work will clean the truss and inside truss panel points to get rid of debris accumulation.

Motorists traveling southbound from Charles City to Prince George are to take Roxbury Road (Route 106/156) to Route 5 west to Interstate 295 southbound and back to Route 10 east as a detour. Motorists traveling northbound are to take Route 10 west to Interstate 295 north to Route 5 east to return back to Route 106/156.

Motorists traveling to the Hampton Roads area can use the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry as an alternate route.
