New Kent Community Development Corporation announce scholarship recipients

New Kent’s Community Development Corporation (NKCDC) has awarded four scholarships to local students who graduated high school in 2022.

Treyvon Taylor was the recipient of the NKCDC academic scholarship in the amount of $250. Elizabeth Ross, Jaiden McCoy, and Shemaiah Young were all awarded with the Eugene R. Williams Scholarship based on high academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community involvement. Ross, who was New Kent High School’s Class of 2022 valedictorian, received a $1,000 award, while McCoy and Young each received $500 monetary contributions.
