Benjamin Harrison Bridge closing overnight beginning Jan. 5
The Benjamin Harrison Bridge that connects Charles City and Prince George County will experience overnight closures beginning Thursday, Jan. 5, for aerial cable work.
Closures will take place during the overnight hours beginning Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. The bridge is scheduled to reopen the next morning at 6 a.m.
Corresponding dates for the overnight closures are Jan. 5-6, and Jan. 9-12. Motorists are advised to use the following detour:
–Traveling Northbound from Prince George: Take Route 10 West to Interstate 295 North. Take Exit 22A to Route 5 East to return to Route 106/156.
–Traveling Southbound from Charles City: Take Route 5 West to Interstate 295 South. Take Exit 15A to Route 10 East to return to Route 106/156.
Motorists traveling in the Hampton Roads area may use the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry as an alternate route.
