Chronicle announces guidelines for 2023 candidate publications

The New Kent-Charles City Chronicle is announcing procedures for individuals running for public office for the 2023 general election in November.

Individuals running for public office may submit a brief statement introducing his or herself, what position they are running for, along with a headshot anytime from now until the June 29 edition. Statements following the June 29 edition will be run at the editor’s discretion.

Chronicle staff will conduct follow-up interviews in August and September of this year. These interviews will focus on the candidates’ platform. Once all interviews are complete, candidates will be listed in an edition of our newspaper prior to the November election.

Statements and headshots may be emailed to editor Andre’ Jones at nkccnews@gmail.com. Posts and appearance in the Chronicle will be done on a first come, first serve basis.
