Arts Alive Inc. announces two scholarship winners from New Kent

Two New Kent residents have received scholarships from Arts Alive Incorporated.

Lucy Vick, a 2022 graduate of New Kent High School, received the $500 Dr. Shirly Carter Olsson recurring scholarship. The scholarship honors the life of Dr. Shirley Carter Olsson and is awarded to past scholarship winners in their second year of college who is pursuing a major in the arts.

Cadence Roberts, a senior at New Kent High School, is the winner of the C. Herbert Brown Jr. Performing Arts Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. The scholarship is named in honor of Arts Alive’s founder, C. Herbert Brown Jr., and is given to a graduating high school senior who plans to pursue a career in the performing arts.
