New Kent’s First Annual Fourth of July celebration

Marcus Southerland barrels down into a plate of pastry as he emerged as the winner of the 10-17 age bracket of a pie-eating contest during New Kent County’s First Annual Fourth of July celebration held July 2 at New Kent High School. The event consisted of games, food, and fireworks as part of the Independence Day holiday.
