‘Lift Zone’ implementation

Chickahominy Tribe Chief Stephen Adkins and Second Assistant Chief Reggie Stewart (center) is joined by representatives of Comcast, CodeVA, Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, and the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia as they announce the implementation of a ‘Lift Zone’ during a Wednesday morning presentation at the Chickahominy Tribal Center. Along with Project Up, a partnership of the above entities will provide a Lift Zone, a location where internet access can be used by members of the Chickahominy Tribe, to provide services and programs to assist those with technological needs. In addition, 100 laptop computers were donated to senior citizens of the Chickahominy Tribe to help them get acquainted with the technology, as well as a donation of $25,000 was presented to CodeVA, who will sponsor training and educational programs for the tribe.
