‘Bees and Berries’

Buckland Farm, located in Charles City, hosted its first annual “Bees and Berries” festival on May 18. The festival is the first of a collective event entitled “The Harvest Family Jam” that serves as a gateway to farming, gardening, and horticulture in the community. Among the activities included lessons on the benefits of harvesting, how to beautify surroundings, and a musical concert. Above, a live beehive display presented by the East Richmond Beekeepers shows how honey is extracted from honeycombs produced by the insects.
