Supporting Sergeant Miles and family

Saturday night’s musical performance by The Janitors (above) at Cul’s Courthouse Grille in Charles City had a little more meaning as it served as a donation fundraiser for the family of the late Sgt. Floyd Miles Jr. on Saturday night. More than 200 people came out to support the family of Miles, who lost his life in the line of duty after suffering a medical emergency while responding to a call on June 9. Pictured below are (l to r) Charles City County Sheriff Jayson Crawley, Miles’ stepsons Steven and Taequan Williams, sister-in-law and brother Jonathan and Storme Miles, wife Denise Miles, Cul’s Courthouse Grille owners Bonnie Whitaker and Cullen Jenkins, and Charles City Sheriff Deputy Crystal Roberson.
