Logan Albertson, a resident of New Kent, recently graduated from Averett University. Albertson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Science. He was also named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2025 semester, which requires a student to earn a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher.
Four local students were named to the Dean’s List at the College of William & Mary for the Spring 2025 semester. Parker McBrayer of Barhamsville, Emma Shellman of Charles City, Catie Bennett of Providence Forge, and Kendal Vorous of Quinton were acknowledged for their academic achievement. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a quality-point average of 3.6 or higher.

Olivia Allen posted a grade-point average of 4.729 as valedictorian of New Kent High School’s Class of 2025. She is a member of the National Honor Society, BETA Club, Student Council Association, Phi Beta Kappa, served as team captain of the field hockey, soccer, and swim team, is the senior class vice president, and attended Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School. Olivia will be attending the University of Virginia where she plans to major in biology and follow a pre-medicine track to become a pediatrician. She is the daughter of Edward and Katherine Allen.
Hannah Tober is salutatorian of New Kent High School’s Class of 2025 with a grade-point average of 4.6. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Interact Club, team captain of the softball team, is the senior class president, and attended Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School. Hannah will be attending the University of Virginia to continue her career in softball, and plans to major in biology, with plans to head to medical school and become a physician. She is the daughter of Ed and Regina Tober.

Hunter Meadows and Clara Fenandez, both of Lanexa, Daniella Flowers of New Kent, and Brianna Bartlett of Quinton, were recognized for their academic excellence during the semester. In order to be named to the President’s List, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.7 or higher.

To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be taking at least 12 credit hours and accumulate a grade-point average of 3.4 or better.
