Benjamin Harrison Bridging closing for repairs Dec. 18-21

The Benjamin Harrison Bridge that connects Charles City and Prince George county will be closed this upcoming weekend for a clutch replacement project. The bridge will close at 12 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 18 and remain closed until Monday, Dec. 21, 6 a.m. Motorists traveling to the Hampton Roads area are advised to take the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry. Motorist traveling southbound on Route 106/156 towards Hopewell/Prince George are to detour west on Route 5 (John Tyler Memorial Highway) to Interstate 295 Southbound and use exit 15A and travel back eastward. Heritage Public Library receives second grant from National Library of Medicine

Heritage Public Library has received a second National Library of Medicine Grant. Let’s get to everybody’s favorite topic when it comes to motorists commuting from Charles City to Prince George, Hopewell, and other southside localities: The Benjamin Harrison Memorial Bridge. Over the past two years, the bridge has caused as many headaches as the Airport Road/New Kent Highway roundabout did when it was first constructed.
