A temporary traffic signal at the intersection of Route 33 (New Kent Highway) and Interstate 64 westbound will become operational on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Located at exit 205 (Bottoms Bridge), the light will transition the left lane of Route 33 northbound into a left turn only lane for motorists to get on Interstate 64 westbound. The adjustment eliminates the short acceleration lane and provides a safer work zone for construction personnel. The Chickahominy Area Triad will implement two programs to assist the elderly beginning Jan. 1, 2025. The first program is the “Not Forgotten Neighborly Chat’ program. The program is designed to have a volunteer from the Chickahominy Area Triad provide caring weekly or bi-weekly calls, conduct neighborly chats and dialogue.
