New Kent Stagehands will present “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” based on Charles Schultz comic strip over a two-week span in November. Featuring the antics and comedy of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and a cast of characters, audiences will watch as he takes on situations as only he can. The script and music is written by Clark Gesner. The show will take place at New Kent Middle School Nov. 11-12, and 18-19, 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 13, 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. For information, call 932-3450.
I have spent the last 39 years of my life working. I have worked in the private sector, and in the public sector, in non-union facilities, and in union shops. Bottom of the Bridge LaSertoma has announced the awarding of two scholarships to recent New Kent High School graduates. Ethan Ashford was awarded a $2,000 scholarship grant and was also awarded an additional $1,000 grant after being selected by LaSertoma International for his continuing education. Ashford is currently enrolled at the College of Charleston majoring in the Business Administration program. Sabrina Odell was the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship grant. She is currently attending the Medical College of Virginia pursuing a nursing degree. Funds for the scholarships were raised through the organization’s annual charity golf tournament.
