The Chickahominy Area Triad will implement two programs to assist the elderly beginning Jan. 1, 2025. The first program is the “Not Forgotten Neighborly Chat’ program. Sara Jefferson, a resident of Charles City, was named to the Dean’s List at George Mason University for the Fall 2024 semester. In order to receive the accolade, a student must be enrolled full-time and accumulate a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

The New Kent-Charles City Chronicle has announced hours for the holiday season. Chronicle staff will be available for the Christmas holiday until Monday, Dec. 23. Deadlines for all advertising and submissions are to be submitted by that day. Chronicle staff will be on holiday break on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. A Quinton resident is continuing to fight for her son, even after his untimely passing. Tammy McGee lost her son, Conner Guido, on Oct. 26, 2019 in a motor vehicle accident as they returned from a homecoming dance.
