New Kent County Fair set for Aug. 12-14

The 45th annual New Kent County Fair is Saturday, Aug. 12-14. Applications and information for vendors and sponsors are currently being accepted. Volunteers are needed for set-up, take down, helping out during the fair, and working the parade. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13. New acts and entertainment will be on hand as well as favorite returning acts and games. For information to become a vendor or for updates, visit www.newkentcountyfair.com.

Lucy Adamson, a junior at New Kent High School, was recognized at the 49th Annual Brotherhood-Sisterhood Youth Award ceremony on Feb. 11 in Richmond. The annual award is sponsored by the Interfaith Council of Greater Richmond and is awarded to one high school junior or senior from each of the 50-plus Richmond area schools. Lucy was recognized by the organization for her ability as a leader, a peacekeeper and her calming influence as a peacekeeper.
