New Kent High School Class of 2024 Valedictorian- Lily Ohlschlager

Lily Ohlschlager posted a grade-point average of 4.6591 as valedictorian of New Kent High School. She was a member of the field hockey team, gymnastics team, and attended Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School. Lily will be attending will be the University of Virginia, planning to major in business and minor in statistics. She is the daughter of Matt and Ashley Ohlschlager.

Lily Brame is salutatorian of New Kent High School’s Class of 2024 with a grade-point average of 4.6182. She was a member of the tennis team, drama club, theater club, writing club, BETA, and attended Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School. Lily will be attending the University of Virginia and plans to major in public policy and minor in studio art. She is the daughter of Victoria and Cyrus Brame.

Three named to UMGC Dean’s List for Spring semester

Three local students were named to the Dean’s List at the University of Maryland-Global Campus for the Spring 2024 semester. Brandon Harcum of New Kent, Tenisha High-Adams of Providence Forge, and Jennifer Hilton of New Kent were all recognized for their academic accomplishments. In order to be named to the Dean’s List, a student must complete at least six credits during the term and accumulate a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Several local residents were recognized by James Madison University for their academic success during the Spring 2024 semester. Two local residents earn Dean’s List honors at Shenandoah University

Two local residents were named to the Dean’s List at Shenandoah University for the Spring 2024 semester. Colette Girouard of Quinton and Brylea Ricks of Providence Forge were recognized for their academic achievement. In order to qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Bauer earns Bachelor’s Degree from Hollins University

Emily Bauer, a resident of Charles City, graduated from Hollins University at part of May 19 commencement ceremonies. Bauer graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre.
