Joseph Allen III, of Quinton, earned both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree from Christopher Newport University during a recent graduation ceremony. Allen earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and minored in data science and business administration. Allen will continue his studies at Texas Tech University.

Paige was an advocate and leader for her New Kent community. Food Lion recognized three associates who have worked for several years at Quinton stores during an Apr. 30 press release. Henry Bryant, a customer service leader for 30 years, Dana Dawson, an assistant store manager for 35 years, and James Richardson, a center store associate for 35 years, were celebrated for their years of service to the brand.
The Benjamin Harrison Bridge that connects Charles City and Prince George County will be undergoing maintenance for the next five months. Starting Monday, Apr. 22, Virginia’s Department of Transportation (VDOT) will be working to replace span locks on the bridge. Work will be completed on intermittent days. Maintenance will take place Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. During this time, flaggers will direct traffic to alternating lifts.
