Seven local residents graduate from James Madison University

Seven local residents recently completed their studies at James Madison University following Spring 2024 commencement day ceremonies. Kelly Higgins of Quinton earned a Master of Arts degree in Counselor Education, with an emphasis in school psychology and counseling education. Kaylei Kipper of Providence Forge graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre, and Molly Wallace of Quinton graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design. Sarah Godsey, a resident of Quinton, completed studies at the College of William and Mary on May 18. Godsey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education during the Spring commencement ceremony.

Ross named to Dean List at Milwaukee School of Engineering for Spring 2024 semester

Katie Ross, the 2023 valedictorian of New Kent High School, was named to the Dean’s List at the Milwaukee School of Engineering for the Spring 2024 semester. In order to be recognized for the achievement, a student must be taking at least 12 credit hours and earn a grade-point average of 3.2 or higher.

Lamprecht earns Dean’s List recognition from Mount St. Mary’s University

Jocelyn Lamprecht, a resident of New Kent, earned Dean’s List Honors for the Spring 2024 semester at Mount St. Mary’s University. In order to be recognized for the achievement, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

New Kent Parks and Recreation participating in ‘Longest Day of Play’

New Kent County Parks and Recreation are participating in the Longest Day of Play on June 20. Organized by the Virginia Recreation and Parks Society (VPRS), Play All Day VA aims to promote the importance of PLAY for all ages, abilities, and interests through local parks and free or discounted recreational programming. New Kent Parks and Recreation has scheduled several activities including popsicles in the park, intro to pickleball, Doggy Happy Hour, open gym basketball, and Trail Mix on the Trail. Five local residents named to Southern New Hampshire University’s President’s List

Five local residents were named to the President’s List of Southern New Hampshire University for the Spring 2024 semester. Amber Birckhead of Charles City, Kyle McCuistion, of Providence Forge, and Carrol Smart, Rosana Caballero, and Maurice Lambert, all of New Kent, were recognized for their academic accolades. The achievement is given to a student who accumulated a grade point average of 3.7 or higher while being enrolled full-time.
