Kegley named to President’s List at Davis & Elkins College

Roy Kegley, a resident of Quinton, was named to the President’s List at Davis & Elkins College for the Spring 2024 semester. To be recognized for the achievement, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade point average of 4.0.

Tomajczyk named to Dean’s List at Bridgewater College

Luke Tomajczyk, a resident of Providence Forge, was named to the Dean’s List at Bridgewater College for the Spring 2024 semester. In order to be recognized for the accomplishment, a student must attain a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher.

Allen graduates with two degrees from Christopher Newport University

Joseph Allen III, of Quinton, earned both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree from Christopher Newport University during a recent graduation ceremony. Allen earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and minored in data science and business administration. Allen will continue his studies at Texas Tech University.

Interstate 64 corridor named in honor of former New Kent supervisor Patricia Paige

“She is Miss New Kent.” Those words were spoken by New Kent District 4 Supervisor Ron Stiers during Tuesday morning’s highway dedication ceremony in honor of the late Patricia Paige. Paige was an advocate and leader for her New Kent community. Growing up in the county, her characteristic nature of keeping the world a beautiful place guided her to run for New Kent County’s Board of Supervisors. She eventually was elected and served as the first African-American woman to hold the position of chair. Food Lion recognizes Quinton employees for years of service

Food Lion recognized three associates who have worked for several years at Quinton stores during an Apr. 30 press release. Henry Bryant, a customer service leader for 30 years, Dana Dawson, an assistant store manager for 35 years, and James Richardson, a center store associate for 35 years, were celebrated for their years of service to the brand.
