Victoria Cox-Washington has announced her intent for re-election to the position of Circuit Court Clerk of Charles City County in the upcoming November General Election. “I am so excited to announce my candidacy for another term,” she said in a press release. “We have accomplished a lot in this tem and still have a lot more work to do. “When elected, I look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Charles City County,” she concluded.
Elizabeth Smith Remorenko has announced her candidacy for the District 2 seat to New Kent County’s School Board. “New Kent schools have excellent teachers and a strong foundation for meeting our county’s ever-growing needs,” she said in a press release. “If elected, I am committed to working with our schools and community to ensure that our children receive the best possible education, our teachers have the resources they need, and our community has a voice in our schools.”
Three local students were named to the Honors List their academic achievement at Brightpoint Community College for the Spring 2023 semester. Robert Fields and Jessica Lull, both of Quinton, and Terry Cotman, of Charles City, were recognized by the college for their accolades. In order to be named to the list, a student must have completed 24 total hours and accumulate a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Jenna Warlick, of Providence Forge, has been named to the University of Alabama’s Dean’s List for the Spring 2023 semester. In order to be recognized for the achievement, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
Two local residents have earned Doctorate degrees from Shenandoah University. Rebecca Bradford of Quinton and Alyssa Virgili of Providence Forge were among graduates as part of May 20 commencement ceremonies at the school Both Bradford and Virgili graduated with a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree.
David Hice, a resident of Lanexa, recently completed his studies at the University of Maryland Global Campus. Hice graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies as part of Spring 2023 commencement ceremonies at the institution.
