Bay Transit offering free rides to polls on Election Day

Bay Transit will offer citizens of Charles City and New Kent free rides to the polls on Election Day. On Nov. 8 from 6 a.m.-7 p.m., the agency will provide transportation for residents who need assistance getting to the polls. To schedule a ride, call 877-869-6046 by Oct. 28 to make a reservation. Chickahominy Health District to partner with New Kent as part of CHIP initiative

The Chickahominy Health District will be partnering with several local community partners to kick off the New Kent County Community Health Improvement Planning (CHIP) on Tuesday, Oct. 25. Three locals graduate during Summer 2022 ceremonies from James Madison University

Three local students recently completed studies at James Madison University and graduated during August 2022 commencement exercises. Rachel Phelps and Grace Daniel, both of Quinton, and Jacob Broz, of Providence Forge, are part of the Summer 2022 graduating class. Phelps earned a Bachelor’s degree in geology, Daniel earned a Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, and Broz earned a Bachelor’s degree in sport and recreational management.

OB-GYN services to be offered in New Kent County

HCA Virginia will bring the first OB-GYN to the area, and it will be located in New Kent County. Located inside of Chickahominy Family Physicians at 1850 Pocahontas Trail, Quinton, Dr. Maria Espiridion will begin treating patients on Sept. 27. “Patients in this area typically have to travel to Richmond or Williamsburg for care, so we are excited to fill a huge void in New Kent County,” said Henrico Doctors’ Hospital Chief Executive Officer Ryan Jensen. “People who live in surrounding communities will be able to save a trip by having comprehensive OB-GYN care close by.” The new specialty will…
