Bay Transit will offer citizens of Charles City and New Kent free rides to the polls on Election Day. On Nov. 8 from 6 a.m.-7 p.m., the agency will provide transportation for residents who need assistance getting to the polls. To schedule a ride, call 877-869-6046 by Oct. 28 to make a reservation. The Chickahominy Health District will be partnering with several local community partners to kick off the New Kent County Community Health Improvement Planning (CHIP) on Tuesday, Oct. 25. Three local students recently completed studies at James Madison University and graduated during August 2022 commencement exercises. Rachel Phelps and Grace Daniel, both of Quinton, and Jacob Broz, of Providence Forge, are part of the Summer 2022 graduating class. Phelps earned a Bachelor’s degree in geology, Daniel earned a Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, and Broz earned a Bachelor’s degree in sport and recreational management.
HCA Virginia will bring the first OB-GYN to the area, and it will be located in New Kent County.
