Five locals named to Dean’s List at Radford University for Fall 2021 semester

Five local students were named to the Dean’s List at Radford University for the Fall 2021 semester. Ayiana Adkins and Alliyah James, both of Charles City, Kirsten Torrence and William Bowery, both of Quinton, and Abigail Clarke of Providence Forge, were recognized for their academic accomplish by the institution of higher learning. In order to make the Dean’s List, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher while taking at least 12 hours of credited courses.

Mathis named as new director of Heritage Public Library

Heritage Public Library’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Kendra Mathis has been named as its new library director. Mathis began her role on Jan. 1. Over the past 13 years, she has worked in operations, technical services, and marketing for Heritage Public Library. Bauer named to Dean’s List at Hollins University

Emily Bauer, a resident of Charles City, was named to the Dean’s List at Hollins University for the Fall 2021 semester. In order to be named to the list, a student must accumulate a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Handful of local residents named to College of William and Mary’s Dean’s List for Fall 2021 semester

Five local residents were recognized on the College of William and Mary’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester. Abbey Coutu of Barhamsville, Ellie Ferrell of New Kent, and Joey Houska, Todd Reynolds, and Ty Walters, all of Lanexa, were recognized by the college for their academic achievements. In order to be named to the Dean’s List, a student must earn a quality point average of 3.6 or higher while taking at least 12 credit hours.

Lexi Mills, a resident of Providence Forge, was named to the Dean’s List at the University of Utah for the Fall 2021 semester. In order to be recognized for the achievement, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while taking at least 12 graded credit hours.

Three locals graduate from James Madison University

Three local residents completed their studies at James Madison University and were recognized as part of Fall 2021 commencement ceremonies. Jacob Mattson of Providence Forge graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. Samantha Miller and Sarah Rice, both of Quinton, earned degrees in nursing.

Vorous named to Randolph-Macon College’s Dean’s List for Fall 2021
