Nine indicted by NK grand jury
Nine defendants received indictments handed up by a New Kent Circuit Court grand jury on Jan. 14, including a trio who have been linked to several break-ins at Dominion Virginia Power substations.
Angela Leighann Anderson, 25, and Kenneth Barnhart IV, 30, both of 5001 Good Hope Road, Lanexa, received multiple indictments relating to theft and entry onto Dominion property on a variety of dates from July to September of last year.
Barnhart’s 11 counts include four grand larceny, four destruction of property, and three trespassing charges. Anderson is charged on three counts each of grand larceny and destruction of property. She was also charged on an unrelated matter for possession of a controlled substance (Percocet) stemming from an incident last Oct. 16.
Bret Cole Dunham, 30, of Henrico Regional Jail East, Barhamsville, was indicted on one count each of grand larceny, destruction of property, and trespassing on Dominion property. According to the indictment, Dunham entered the premises on Aug. 31 of last year.
Others indicted on Monday and the charges they face are:
–Jacques Ishmael Botts, 19, of 6014 Newington Drive, Richmond, on one count of grand larceny, hit and run, misdemeanor driving without a license, and misdemeanor possession of alcohol. Botts allegedly stole a Honda Accord belonging to Earnest Kopacki on Nov. 6.
–Kent Russell Wilmer, 46, of 1515 Floyd Ave. #13, Richmond, on one count of hit and run with injury. The incident occurred on June 25 of last year.
–Robert Allen Lawrence, 54, of 2330 Hubbard Road, Lanexa, on one count of felonious trespassing by a sex offender. The indictment alleges that Lawrence was on the property of a New Kent school on Sept. 18, 2006 after being declared a sex offender.
–David Allen Webb Richardson, 35, of 4011 Henpeck Road, Quinton, on one count of child endangerment. The indictment alleges that Richardson was driving erratically on Sept. 11 of last year with a child who was a passenger.
–Steven Lavier Thompson, 46, of 14724 Blue Creek Place, South Chesterfield, on driving a vehicle after being declared a habitual offender. The charge comes as a result of a traffic stop that occurred on July 27 of last year.
–Jason Edward Rhoten, 28, now of Central Virginia Regional Jail, Orange, on two counts of burglary and two counts of grand larceny. According to the indictment, Rhoten broke into the homes of Paul Allen Hitchcock and Karen Dianne Morris last Oct. 29. Items stolen included flat screen televisions, computers, a chain saw, and a variety of other electronics.
