Former New Kent county administrator dies in accident

A former county administrator for New Kent has died as a result of injuries suffered early Tuesday evening when he was struck by a pickup truck as he rode his bicycle along a Chesterfield County road.

Gary B. Burton, 63, served as New Kent county administrator in the mid-1980s between the terms of former administrators Royal Wood and H. Garrett Hart III. He was working as a planner for the city of Richmond and lived in Chesterfield.
