New Kent man charged with abduction, assault
A New Kent County man is being held in jail without bond after allegedly abducting and assaulting his girlfriend.
Deandrew Lamont Jones, 33, of the 20400 block of Tabernacle Road in Barhamsville, is charged with one count each of felony abduction (by force, intimidation, or deception) and misdemeanor domestic assault of a family member in connection with an incident that the New Kent Sheriff’s Office said occurred on Jan. 2. The incident was not reported to authorities until Jan. 7.
Deputy Wyatt Johnston arrested Jones on Jan. 8. According to a sheriff’s office report, the alleged victim was not injured and no firearms were involved in the incident. A protective order has been issued against the suspect.
