A pair of Lanexa men have been arrested on one count each of malicious wounding after a verbal confrontation escalated to a physical altercation.

Charles Edward Laxton III, 34, of the 13000 block of Old Telegraph Road, and Clayton Garcia Roberts, 51, of the 100 block of Selby Lane, were taken into custody on Aug. 21 for the incident.

According to the police report, New Kent deputies responded to Windsor Shades in response to an alleged stabbing incident. Upon arrival, Laxton was discovered with a laceration to his arm. While Laxton was treated at a Richmond hospital, deputies received a call that Roberts had a laceration to his arm and was being treated at a Williamsburg hospital. Upon investigation, both men were charged with the same offense and were both being held without bond.

In an unrelated matter, a Sandston man has been charged with one count each of attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools.

James Elmo Davis, 70, of the 7500 block of Elko Road, was arrested on Aug. 23 after deputies responded to a reported burglary in the 6200 block of New Kent Highway. Responding to a tip and a description of the suspect’s vehicle, deputies were able to stop the vehicle and identify Davis as the driver and the alleged burglar. He was taken into custody and later released on a $1,500 unsecured bond.
