Possession of child pornography lands Quinton man six and a half year prison sentence
A Quinton man who was a target of a Virginia State Police investigation for downloading child pornography will now spend the next six and a half years in prison.
Forrest Blake Jones, 22, of the 7100 block of Lakeshore Drive, received formal sentencing during Monday morning proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.
In January, Jones accepted a plea deal to one count of distribution of pornography and six counts of possession of child pornography. The defendant accepted the deal after a summary of evidence revealed that he downloaded, possessed, and printed images between last June 18 and Aug. 8. Jones confessed to the crimes after confronted during an investigation.
Jones received a 20-year prison sentence with all but six and a half years suspended on the distribution of child pornography conviction. Five years on each of the six possession of child pornography (a total of 30 years) were suspended.
In other proceedings in circuit court:
–Christopher Ricardo Delaney, 29, of the 2000 block of Old Route 60, Toano, accepted a plea deal to one count of uttering a forged document. One count of uttering was dropped. In a summary of evidence, on Jan. 15, 2014, Delaney and another co-defendant, Shauna Evelyn Chapman, forged a check at Wachovia Bank from the account of April Brundage. Under the plea agreement, he received a five-year jail sentence with all but six months suspended.
–Mary Kathryn Honsinger, 28, of the 7200 block of Otey Drive, Lanexa, was sentenced to five years, all suspended, on one count of possession of heroin. Honsinger was in the first offenders’ program but violated the program’s terms and conditions. She was formally convicted from an incident that she possessed the substance last May 27.
–Lamar O’Bryan Wallace, 26, of the 9000 block of Merrimac Trail, Williamsburg, accepted a plea deal and entered Alford pleas of guilty to two counts each of obtaining money by false pretenses and forging a check. Two counts of uttering were dropped. While maintaining his innocence, Wallace stipulated evidence presented by the Commonwealth would be enough for a conviction. On Apr. 14 and Apr. 16, 2014, Wallace cashed checks from the account of Express Employment Professionals in the total amount of $1,256.12 at Lanexa Plaza. Under the plea agreement, if Wallace makes restitution prior to his formal sentencing date, the obtaining money by false pretenses charges will be reduced to misdemeanors.
