One person is dead after an Apr. 22 accident on Interstate 64 in New Kent.
Virginia State Police spokesman Steve Vick said shortly before 8 p.m. near exit 220 (West Point), a 2005 Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on Interstate 64 when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree. The truck partially overturned, spilling fuel and partially blocking the left lane.
The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and died at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
No further information is available at the time. Vick commented that an update will be provided upon the completion of an investigation.
