Smith announces re-election campaign as Charles City Sheriff
Current Charles City County Sheriff Javier J. Smith has announced his bid for re-election to the same position in the upcoming election.
Smith is seeking a third consecutive term and has been serving Charles City Sheriff’s Office since 1997.
‘I am grateful to have been sheriff for the past seven and a half years,” said Smith in a press release. “Our office has strived to provide the best public safety services to our citizens.
“Even though we have accomplished many goals set for our office, I look forward in leading the agency to higher standards of law enforcement,” he continued. “Looking ahead, I will continue to encourage my office to foster a relationship that builds trust with our community.”
Smith has been a resident in Charles City for 34 years with his wife, Holly, and two children. He is an active member of Glendale Community Bible Church.
