New Kent man succumbs to injuries in Chesterfield crash

A New Kent man has died as the result of his injuries suffered in a June 20 crash in Chesterfield.

Larry G. Washington II, 25, died at VCU medical center on June 25. A passenger, Shaniqua G. Brown, also died as a result of the accident.

Washington and Brown were traveling near the 21000 block on Hull Street shortly after 8 p.m. when the vehicle veered from the road and struck a tree. Brown and Washington sustained life-threatening injuries, with Brown passing away on June 20. A third passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Brown and Washington had been dating, according to close family and friends. Cause of the crash is still under investigation.
