Man soliciting sex with minor among six indicted in New Kent

A New Kent man who allegedly attempted to use electronic media to solicit an underage teen for sex was one of six people indicted by a grand jury during Monday morning proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.

Thomas Moody Garner, 22, of the 8000 block of New Kent Highway, was indicted on one count each of use of electronic communications to propose sex to a minor, and attempting to have a minor expose themselves in a sexual manner. According to the indictment, on Nov. 1, 2014, Garner engaged with a 15-year old teen and attempted to have the teen expose themselves in the nude.

In other indictments handed down by the grand jury:

–Ronald S. Altizer, 28, of the 11000 block of Carriage Road, Providence Forge, on one count of possession of cocaine. Altizer allegedly possessed the drug on March 21.

–Jessy Daniel Babbitt, 22, of Henrico Jail East, on one count of assaulting a law enforcement officer. Babbitt allegedly attacked an officer on March 11 while being incarcerated as an inmate at the jail.

–Laura Lee Carter, 33, of 17 Woodman Road, Hampton, on one count of perjury. Carter allegedly testified falsely under oath during a June 29 trial.

–Christopher Milton Golderos, 37, of the 12000 block of Old Telegraph Road, Providence Forge, on one count of possession of heroin. Golderos allegedly possessed the drug last March 6.

–Howard Grant Mitchell Jr., 57, of 12 W. Lewis Road, Hampton, on one count of driving as a habitual offender. The offense allegedly occurred on April 10.
