Georgia man arrested for using stolen credit cards in New Kent
A Georgia man has been charged by New Kent Sheriff’s Office for using stolen credit cards to make cigarette purchases in Quinton.
Joseph M. Davis, 32, of Augusta, Georgia, was arrested on eight counts of credit card fraud stemming from alleged illegal activities conducted on Oct. 9.
According to the police report, New Kent Sheriff’s Office worked jointly with Henrico County Police to investigate a rash of stolen credit cards. Davis, identified as one of the suspects, was allegedly involved with the use of stolen credit card numbers to purchase cartons of cigarettes from local convenience stores in Quinton.
New Kent Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Davis near Pocahontas Trail. He was arrested and transported to Henrico Jail East and was being held without bond.
Henrico County Police department apprehended two other suspects, who were also allegedly involved in the incident. Charges are pending in New Kent against those two individuals.
