Suspects in unrelated New Kent burglaries arrested

Two men have been arrested in unrelated crimes involving burglaries at homes in New Kent in August of this year.

–Maurice Thomas Lewis, 25, of Quinton, was arrested on one count each of burglary and grand larceny. According to the arrest report, on Aug. 30 deputies responded to a burglary at a residence in the Woodhaven Shores subdivision where a flat-screen television was taken. Through the assistance of the Virginia State Crime Lab, Lewis was identified as one of the possible suspects in the theft. He was arrested and was being held without bond.

–Deondre E. Pittman, 18, of Williamsburg, on one count each of attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools. On Aug. 3, a New Kent deputy responded to an attempted burglary at a residence on Holly Forks Road. Citizens assisted New Kent Sheriff’s Office by helping identify alleged suspects, with one of them being Pittman. He was arrested and was being held at Henrico Jail East without bond.
