Benjamin Harrison Bridge to close this weekend for repairs

The Benjamin Harrison Bridge connecting Charles City and Prince George County will close for repairs this weekend during overnight hours.

The bridge will close beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15 and reopen on Saturday, Jan. 16, 5:30 a.m. to repair the bridge’s stop gate that was damaged in an accident last December. Also on Jan. 16, there will be alternating lane closures from 5:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Drivers are advised to use Route 5 West to Interstate 295 South to exit 13A to return back to Route 10 East as an alternative route. Travelers may also use the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry as an alternate route.
